About Complex Care

Expert support for those who need it most

Some people need more than standard personal care. They need highly skilled, carefully coordinated support that responds to complex medical, behavioural, or physical needs consistently and safely. Pacific Homecare’s complex care team is trained and experienced in delivering exactly that.

We understand that complex care situations require not only clinical skill but genuine understanding, patience, and the ability to build trust over time. Every complex care participant receives a tailored, documented support protocol before any worker begins.

Understanding the Support

What is Complex Care Support?

Complex care refers to support for NDIS participants who have high or specialist support needs that go beyond typical daily living assistance. This can include participants with significant physical health conditions, acquired brain injuries (ABI), high-intensity behaviours of concern, degenerative neurological conditions, or multiple co-occurring disabilities requiring coordinated specialist support.

Frequently asked questions

1. Do support workers receive specialist training before working with me?

Yes. All staff who support complex care participants receive thorough, participant-specific training including your individual care protocols and any clinical procedures before they commence work with you.

2. Can Pacific Homecare support participants with behaviours of concern?

Yes, provided a current Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan is in place, developed by a qualified behaviour support practitioner. We implement PBS plans collaboratively and never use restrictive practices without proper NDIS authorisation.

3. What happens if a support worker is unavailable?

We maintain a trained relief pool for complex care participants to ensure continuity of safe, skilled support. We will always notify you in advance and introduce relief workers before they work with you independently where possible.

4. Can complex care support include overnight staffing?

Yes. We provide active overnight support, sleepover support, and fully rostered 24/7 care for participants who require it.
