About ILO

Living life on your terms

There is no single right way to live. Individualised Living Options (ILO) is an NDIS support that helps you design a living arrangement that genuinely suits your life whether that means living with a host family, sharing with a trusted friend, or living independently with a customised support package.

At Pacific Home Care, we believe everyone deserves a home and a life that reflects who they are. Our ILO team works with you to explore, design, and implement a living arrangement that maximises your independence, dignity, and belonging.

Understanding the Support

What are Individualised Living Options?

ILO is a flexible NDIS support that enables you to design your own living situation rather than fitting into a standard model. It has two components: Exploration and Design (funded time to discover what your ideal arrangement looks like) and Support in your chosen arrangement (ongoing funding to support your daily life once the ILO is in place).

Frequently asked questions

1. What is the difference between ILO and SIL?

SIL is typically a more structured, provider-led model often involving shared accommodation. ILO is more flexible and self-directed you design the arrangement. ILO is well-suited to people who want greater choice and control over who they live with and how their support is delivered.

2. Can ILO be used to live with a family member?

Yes. ILO can fund support within a living arrangement that involves a family member or trusted person, provided the arrangement meets NDIS guidelines and support needs are documented.

3. How long does the ILO exploration phase take?

The exploration and design phase is typically funded for several months. Your Pacific Homecare ILO coordinator will guide you through the timeline and what to expect at each stage.

4. What if my ILO arrangement does not work out over time?

We monitor your arrangement regularly and can help you explore alternative options if your needs, relationships, or circumstances change. Flexibility is central to the ILO model.
