Understanding the Support

What is NDIS In-Home Care?

In-home care refers to a range of funded supports delivered in your home to assist with daily living activities. This includes personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, medication prompting, and general assistance that helps you maintain your routines and your home environment. It is funded under Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS Core Supports budget.

Frequently asked questions

1. Can I choose exactly what tasks my support worker helps with?

Absolutely. Your in-home support is guided by your NDIS plan goals and your personal preferences. You are in charge of what help you receive and how you want it provided.

2. How often can in-home support be provided?

This depends on your NDIS plan funding. In-home support can be provided daily, multiple times per day, or on a flexible basis whatever your plan allows and your needs require.

3. Do your support workers bring their own cleaning supplies?

In most cases, household tasks are completed using your own supplies and equipment. Please discuss any specific requirements with our team during your initial intake.

4. What happens if my regular support worker is unwell?

We will always notify you in advance and arrange a suitable, trained relief worker. Where possible, we will introduce relief workers to you before they support you independently.
